The French and Industrial Revolutions
The French Revolution was one of the most famous revolutions in European History. Beginning in 1789, the French Revolution made France, which was the center of culture and influence at the time, a revolutionary model. It went through many uprisings and developed from a constitutional monarchy to a radical republic, and finally an Empire ran by Napoleon Bonaparte. The Industrial Revolution began in 1780 and lasted through 1850. The Industrial Revolution took place mostly in Great Britain and was socially and economically revolutionary. The industrial revolution caused Britain's economy to explode, and led to many social changes, both good and bad, for working and peasantry classes. The Industrial Revolution resulted in changes in work patterns, family patterns, women's rights and freedoms, and standards of living.
